The security agencies and intelligence departments have taken the biggest and toughest stand till date regarding the internal security of the country and the security of the borders. A massive campaign has been launched against Bangladeshi citizens who have crossed the border illegally and are hiding in different parts of the country, which has been named ‘Operation Delta Hunt’. Under this secret and well-planned operation, security forces have so far detained more than 500 suspected Bangladeshi infiltrators by conducting raids in several states. This sudden action has created a stir among anti-national elements and people living illegally.
What is the masterplan of intelligence agencies ‘Operation Delta Hunt’?
For a long time, intelligence agencies were receiving inputs that foreign citizens who had come illegally in many border and metropolitan areas were living with the help of fake documents. As soon as the inputs were solidified, the central investigating agencies and the local police together launched ‘Operation Delta Hunt’. The main objective of this operation is to identify all those people hiding inside the country who have entered the Indian border without any valid passport or visa and are illegally occupying the local resources here. This mission was kept very secret so that the suspects did not get a chance to escape.
Raids were conducted at several places simultaneously at midnight
Joint teams of security forces and police, with complete strategy, surrounded suspicious settlements, construction sites and slum areas from all sides during midnight and early morning. When the scrutiny of documents was started after a complete cordon, a large number of people completely failed to show any valid certificate of Indian citizenship. After initial interrogation and rigorous investigation, till now more than 500 suspects have been rounded up and sent to police stations and detention centers, where they are being interrogated further.
Fake Aadhaar card and voter ID racket also busted
The most shocking and frightening revelation that has come to light during this swift action is the game of fake documents. Identical looking Aadhaar cards, PAN cards and Voter ID cards have been recovered from many of the detained suspects. Investigation has revealed that after entering India illegally, these infiltrators had got these fake government documents prepared within a few days with the help of local brokers. The police is now also investigating the network of local syndicates and brokers who were playing with the security of the country for the greed of a few rupees.
Why is this big crackdown very important for national security?
Senior defense and security experts of the country believe that illegal infiltration not only affects the demography of the country, but it is also a huge time bomb for national security. Many times these illegal settlements are used as sleeper cells to carry out anti-social and anti-national activities. The success of ‘Operation Delta Hunt’ has made it clear that the government and security agencies are now adopting a policy of zero tolerance on the issue of infiltration. There is every possibility that this campaign will intensify in the coming days and the legal process of deporting the detained people will start.
