Lightning Wreaks Havoc in Jharkhand: 5 Dead, Including a Young Girl

At present, a dual form of nature is being seen in Jharkhand. On one hand, the torrential rains have given great relief to the people suffering from the scorching heat, while on the other hand, the same rains are now becoming a disaster. During the last 24 hours, there has been huge devastation due to lightning in different parts of the state. This sequence of deaths, which started on Friday, continued till Saturday morning, in which a total of five people, including an innocent girl and two women, lost their lives. After this tragic accident, there is chaos among the affected families.

Deadly lightning fell in four districts, innocent lives were lost while plucking mangoes from trees.

According to information received from the police and local administration, these tragic news of deaths have come to light from four different districts of Jharkhand. The most painful incident took place in Kulli village of Itki police station area of ​​the capital Ranchi. Here, 12 year old innocent girl Ashrita was plucking mangoes from a tree with her parents, when suddenly lightning fell directly on her. In this accident, Ashrita died on the spot, while her parents got seriously burnt in front of her eyes. He was immediately admitted to the nearest health center, where he is undergoing treatment.

Apart from this, a 45-year-old woman in Garakhurd village of Kandi police station area of ​​Garhwa district and a 32-year-old youth in Banajangha village died due to lightning. At the same time, a 44-year-old woman in Chungi village under Rajganj of Dhanbad and a 21-year-old youth in Babudih village of Pindrajora area of ​​Bokaro died after being hit by lightning.

Trough system changed weather patterns, temperature dropped by 7 degrees

Explaining the reason behind this unseasonal heavy rain and storm, Deputy Director of Ranchi Meteorological Center Abhishek Anand said that this sudden big change in the weather is being seen due to the two trough systems currently active. Due to this system, a huge drop of up to 7 degrees Celsius has been recorded in the maximum temperature across Jharkhand, due to which people have got relief from the scorching heat but the lightning has created an atmosphere of fear.

According to Meteorological Department data, the maximum temperature in Daltonganj on Friday was 34.5 degrees Celsius, which is 6.2 degrees below normal. At the same time, the mercury fell to 33.4 degrees Celsius in Chaibasa and 27.8 degrees Celsius in the capital Ranchi.

Meteorological Department issues ‘Orange Alert’, heat will haunt again in the next 4 days

In view of the seriousness of the situation, the Meteorological Department has issued ‘Orange Alert’ for 13 sensitive districts of the state till 8:30 am on Sunday. These districts include major areas like Ranchi, Ramgarh, Bokaro, Koderma, Giridih, Dhanbad and Godda, where there is a strong possibility of heavy rain and lightning along with strong winds. The administration has appealed to the people to avoid going under trees or in open fields during bad weather. However, meteorologists also say that this relief will not last long and within the next four days, the temperature will once again rise by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius, due to which the heat wave will increase again.
