The Nitish-Samrat government of Bihar has announced to take a very big and stringent legal step to protect the valuable properties and lands of religious trusts, monasteries, temples and shrines across the state. In view of the increasing penetration of land mafias and illegal encroachers on the lands of religious institutions in different districts of the state, the government is now in a desperate mood. Under this, a high-tech ‘Special Cell’ will be formed to completely free all illegal encroachments and encroachments, which will directly handle monitoring and legal action against such lands.
Strategy made in the high level meeting chaired by Minister Dr. Dilip Jaiswal
This important decision to free religious properties from the clutches of land mafia was taken in a special high-level meeting held under the chairmanship of Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal on Friday. In this important meeting, State Law Minister Sanjay Singh Tiger and Chairman of Bihar State Religious Trust Council, Prof. Ranbir Nandan was chiefly present. During the meeting, it was discussed in detail to develop a strong administrative mechanism to ensure the security of land of all big and small religious trusts, monasteries and temples in the state, resolve old cases and speed up the process of removing encroachments.
‘Special cell’ will be formed by merging three big departments, digital records will be ready
According to the government plan, this new special cell will be formed in coordination with three big departments, which include:
-
Revenue and Land Reforms Department
-
Law Department
-
Bihar State Religious Trust Council
This joint special cell will closely monitor all the disputed and court cases related to the land of the Religious Trust Council. Along with this, a plan has also been approved to prepare a foolproof ‘Digital Record’ of the properties of all these religious institutions to prevent illegal buying, selling and manipulation of lands in future. That is, now the complete details of how much land is owned by which temple or monastery will be available online with one click.
Removal of illegal encroachments is the first priority of the government: Minister Dr. Jaiswal
After the meeting, Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Dr. Dilip Kumar Jaiswal warned the land mafia in a strict tone and said that the first priority of the state government is to protect lakhs of acres of valuable land of religious trusts, monasteries, temples and shrines spread across the state. He said that for a long time, the government was receiving complaints of illegal occupation, illegal buying and selling and manipulation of lands of various religious institutions, which is now being taken very seriously. Minister Dr. Jaiswal has given strict instructions to the officials that the orders of the Tribunal of Bihar State Religious Trust Council should be strictly followed on the ground and by running a special campaign, all the identified lands should be freed from encroachment without any delay.
