Two very important and big news are coming out at this time regarding the medical entrance examination NEET-UG. On one hand, while the government has started preparations to make the re-exam to be held on June 21 completely transparent and student-friendly, on the other hand, the CBI is continuously tightening its grip on the culprits of the paper leak scandal.
Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan on Monday sent an official letter to the Chief Ministers, Lieutenant Governors and administrators of all the states and union territories of the country. Through this letter, he has sought direct cooperation from the state governments for smooth, fair and transparent conduct of NEET-UG re-examination to be held on June 21.

Know why the exam is being held again: The exam of May 3 was cancelled.
It is noteworthy that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG 2026) was conducted across the country on May 3 this year for admission to graduate level medical courses (MBBS/BDS). However, amidst serious allegations and huge uproar regarding question paper leak immediately after the examination, the National Testing Agency (NTA) took strict action and completely canceled the examination on May 12. The Central Government has handed over the investigation of this entire matter to the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), and now this examination is going to be held again on June 21.
Main link of paper leak Manisha Havildar arrested, sent to 6 days custody by Delhi court
Meanwhile, the CBI investigating the paper leak case has achieved a major success. A special court in Delhi on Monday sent Physics lecturer Manisha Sanjay Havildar, arrested from Pune in the NEET paper leak case, to 6-day CBI custody. Considering the seriousness of the case, Special Judge Ajay Gupta accepted the remand petition of CBI.
During the hearing, CBI told the court that Manisha Havildar was working as an official ‘translator’ for the NEET-UG examination.
