After facing a crushing defeat in the Bihar Assembly elections, after a long time, an atmosphere of celebration and happiness is being seen in the first family of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Preparations are going on on a large scale for the first birthday of ‘Iraj Lalu Yadav’, the only grandson of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav and son of former Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. To make this special occasion memorable, Lalu’s entire family is currently camping in Delhi and NCR.
There is a buzz in the political circles that this birthday celebration of Tejashwi Yadav’s son will be organized in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh, adjacent to Delhi. Lalu Yadav’s fourth daughter Ragini Yadav and son-in-law Rahul Yadav live in Ghaziabad, who are associated with Samajwadi Party (SP). Rahul’s father Jitendra Yadav has also been a Legislative Council Member (MLC) from SP. Tejashwi Yadav himself has taken charge of this son’s first birthday and he had left for Delhi from Patna on Sunday itself to finalize the preparations.
Bade Mangal was born, why did Dada Lalu Yadav keep the name ‘Iraj’?
Let us remind you that on May 27 last year, Tejashwi Yadav’s wife Rajshree gave birth to a son in a private hospital in Kolkata. Just the next day after the birth of the grandson, grandfather Lalu Prasad Yadav had announced the name of the child as ‘Iraj Lalu Yadav’. Explaining the reason behind the naming, Lalu Yadav had said that Tejashwi’s son was born on the auspicious day of ‘Bada Mangal’ of the month of Jeth, hence he has been named ‘Iraj’ after Lord Hanuman, the son of Pawan.
‘Iraj’ is basically a very beautiful word of Sanskrit, one of whose many divine meanings is ‘Hanuman Ji’. Lalu Yadav had also named his granddaughter (Tejashwi’s daughter) in a similar manner, who was born on the sixth day of Chaitra Navratri and was named ‘Katyayani’ after the form of Maa Durga.
Invitation sent to Rahul Gandhi, Akhilesh Yadav and Arvind Kejriwal
Political activities have also intensified regarding this grand birthday celebration in Ghaziabad. According to information received from sources, the Lalu family has made preparations to bring the political stalwarts of the country on one platform under the pretext of this family celebration. Special invitation letters have been sent to several top leaders of the ruling and opposition parties, including Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav and AAP convenor Arvind Kejriwal, for the ceremony.
Apart from this, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee, who has very close relations with the Lalu family, has also been invited. It is noteworthy that when Iraj was born last year, Mamata Banerjee herself had come to the hospital in Kolkata to meet the child and Rajshree.
Lalu family’s first big celebration after election defeat, political power will be visible
In this first birthday celebration of Iraj, there is going to be a big gathering of not only the central leaders but also the regional leaders of Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. RJD state president Mangani Lal Mandal, Bhola Yadav, Chittaranjan Gagan and many current MPs, MLAs and Legislative Councilors (MLCs) of the party are reaching Ghaziabad to participate in the celebration. Besides, many prominent leaders of Samajwadi Party will also add glory to this party.
Political analysts believe that after the defeat in Bihar elections, this is not only a moment of family happiness for the Lalu family, but by gathering major opposition leaders of the country under one roof on the pretext of being his grandson, Lalu Prasad Yadav also wants to make them realize his diplomatic and political power in national politics.
