Schoolchildren get a big relief! The Haryana government has announced summer vacations ahead of schedule All schools in Haryana will remain closed from May 25: Amidst the scorching heat, a big decision of CM Nayab Singh Saini, order issued

All schools in Haryana will remain closed from May 25: Along with many states of the country, Haryana is also in the grip of severe and deadly heat. The continuously increasing temperature has increased the problems of the general public and school children. Fire is raining from the sky during the afternoon, but now even at night people are suffering due to the humidity and harsh weather. The worst effect of this scorching sun and heat wave was on the health of small school children. In view of this serious situation, the Haryana government has taken a big and sensitive decision and has announced summer vacation ahead of time in all the schools of the state.

Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini took a big decision, schools will be closed from May 25

Haryana Chief Minister Naib Singh Saini on Wednesday officially announced summer vacation in all government and private schools of the state from May 25 to June 30, 2026, in view of the ongoing intense heatwave in the state. Necessary guidelines and circulars in this regard have also been issued by the state education department. This order of the government will be completely applicable to schools of all boards (CBSE, HBSE and others) from primary to higher secondary, so that children can be kept safe from this deadly heat wave.

Why did schools have to be closed before normal time?

Generally speaking, summer vacations in most of the schools of Haryana are between June 1 and June 30 every year. But this time in the month of May itself the weather has broken all its old records. The maximum temperature in many major districts and cities of the state has touched the figure of 45 degrees Celsius. In such a situation, children returning home from school in the afternoon had become a big threat to their health. For this reason, the Chief Minister took a tough decision to implement this strict summer vacation schedule 5 days in advance i.e. from 25th May.

If we look at the history, during the year 2024, Haryana had experienced similar severe and record-breaking heat at the end of May. Even at that time, considering the seriousness of the situation, the state government had ordered the closure of all government and private schools from May 28 to June 30. According to the Meteorological Department (IMD), the exhausting phase of hot and dry winds (loo) will continue in the plains of Haryana for the coming few days, due to which no relief is expected at present. Lakhs of parents and children have heaved a sigh of relief with this quick decision of the government.
