Heat wave increases in Gaya: Schools and Anganwadi centers closed on DM’s orders

In Bihar’s Gaya district, increasing temperature and heatwave are having the worst impact on the health of school children. In view of the continuously increasing mercury in the district, the district administration and the District Magistrate (DM) have taken a big decision. In Gaya, an order has been issued to keep all government and private schools up to Class 5 as well as Anganwadi centers completely closed till May 25.

Additionally, school operating hours have been limited for students above class five. According to the order, senior classes can be conducted only till 11 am. This strict instruction of the administration will be effective from May 21 and will remain in force till May 25, so that children can be protected from getting affected by heat wave.

There will be ‘Maha Cut’ of electricity in Purnia from today: There will be cut for 4 hours for 11 consecutive days

There is a very important news for electricity consumers from Purnia district. In this period of scorching heat, there is going to be power cut for 4 hours every day from today for the next 11 days in various parts of Purnia. Giving official information, Purnia’s Electrical Executive Engineer Balveer Prasad Bagish said that from May 21 to May 31, maintenance work will be done in the 33 KV Sondeep feeder coming out of Dhamdaha (Chikni) grid sub-centre.

Due to this maintenance work, electricity will remain completely shut off from 7 am to 11 am every day. This will have a direct impact on all the feeders connected to 33/11 KV Sondeep, Dargah and Shrimatta and the power supply to these areas will remain cut. The electricity department has appealed to the consumers to complete all their important work including water storage well in advance, keeping this time period in mind.

Forecast for May 22: There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thundershowers at one or two places over Supaul, Araria, Kishanganj, Purnia, Katihar and Saharsa of north-east Bihar as well as districts of south-central Bihar like Patna, Nalanda, Jehanabad, Nawada, Gaya, Lakhisarai, Sheikhpura, Begusarai, Jamui, Munger, Banka and Khagaria.

Forecast for May 23: On this day, sporadic rain can be seen in all the districts of the state except West Champaran, East Champaran, Muzaffarpur, Gopalganj, Sitamarhi, Shivhar, Samastipur, Siwan and Chhapra.
