Hisar/Rohtak: Monday evening brought relief news for the people of Haryana who have been suffering from severe heat wave and scorching sun for the last several days. The strong dust storm that hit many parts of the state including Hisar, Jind, Rohtak and Sirsa brought down the mercury and provided some relief from the sultry heat. However, due to the storm, drivers had to face a lot of trouble on the roads. The Meteorological Department has now issued Orange and Yellow alert of rain for the state, due to which the temperature is likely to fall further in the coming two days.

Temperature orgy: Mercury crosses 44 degrees in Faridabad

Monday was a very hot day for the state. Record highs in both day and night temperatures were recorded:

Hottest day: Maximum temperature in Faridabad 44.4 degrees Celsius While Rohtak also remained in the grip of severe heat wave at 44.2 degrees.

Hottest night: Minimum night temperature in Bhiwani 30.5 degrees Celsius was recorded, which did not allow people to breathe easy even at night.

Warning for today: Winds will blow at a speed of 60 km

The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a strict weather alert in the state for Tuesday (April 28) and Wednesday (April 29). According to meteorologists, due to the activation of Western Disturbance, there is every possibility of rain with high speed winds.

Orange Alert (50-60 km/h winds): Sirsa, Fatehabad, Hisar, Bhiwani, Charkhi Dadri, Rewari, Mahendragarh and Mewat.

Yellow Alert (Light rain likely): Gurugram, Faridabad, Sonipat, Rohtak, Karnal, Panipat, Ambala and Panchkula.

How long will the relief last?

Meteorologists say that till April 29, most parts of the state will remain cloudy and there may be dust storms along with thunderstorms. Due to this change, the day temperature can drop by 2 to 4 degrees, which will reduce the effect of heat wave. Farmers have been advised to take the harvested crops and grains kept in the markets to safe places.
