What was the controversial statement of Ravi Kishan?

“Fake Narrative”: He accused TMC of spreading false propaganda against BJP on fish issue.

“Eat 4 times more fish”: Appealing to the voters, Ravi Kishan said, “After May 4 (the day of election results), the people of Bengal will eat 4 times more fish, because then Ram Rajya will come in the state and the atmosphere of fear will end.”

SP chief Akhilesh Yadav, who is supporting Mamata Banerjee and TMC in this election, has called this statement of Ravi Kishan an insult to the culture of Bengal.

Attack on culture: Akhilesh Yadav said that BJP leaders do not understand the food traditions and lifestyle of Bengal. He sarcastically said that people who call themselves ‘Ram devotees’ are now advocating eating fish, which shows their ideological double standards.

Distracting from issues: Akhilesh alleged that BJP is doing politics on issues like ‘fish’ and ‘food’ to divert attention from main issues like unemployment and inflation.
