Government internship opportunity, opportunity to join Digital India Mission, training will be available with 10,000 stipend

News India Live, Digital Desk: If you are a college student and are dreaming of working with the Central Government, then this news is for you only. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) has started the application process for ‘Digital India Internship Scheme 2026’. Through this scheme, not only will you get a chance to understand the nuances of Digital India, but the government will also give a stipend of ₹ 10,000 every month. You will get a chance to work in these 33 areas

This internship program has been made very comprehensive. In this, internships are being offered in a total of 33 different areas like content writing, cyber security, web development, video editing, data analytics and digital economy. The ministry aims to select a total of 51 talented students, who will work on government projects under the guidance of experts. This will be a 2-month program (1 June to 31 July 2026), which can be extended by 3 months depending on performance.

Who can apply? Know Eligibility

The government has set some stringent standards for this prestigious internship. Minimum of one year in the candidate’s previous degree or semester to apply 60% marks It is mandatory to have.

Technical Field: BE/B.Tech (3rd year), ME/M.Tech (1st year), MCA, or M.Sc (CS/IT/Electronics) students are eligible.

other areas: Law (LLB) students can apply for Online Gaming and Internet Policy, while Economics and Statistics students are eligible for the Digital Economy area.

Note: Students who are passing final semester in summer 2026 are not eligible. Only students in pre-final year or second last year can apply.

Selection Process and Important Dates

There will be no written examination for this internship. Candidates will be selected on the basis of their academic record and interview/scrutiny.

Last date: Apply online by 29 April 2026.

Result announcement: The list of selected candidates will be released on 19 May 2026.

certificate: On successful completion of internship and submission of report, you will be given a certificate recognized by the Government of India, which can prove to be a milestone in your career.

Interested students can register by visiting the official portal intern.meity.gov.in. Along with the application, you will also need to upload the NOC on your college’s letterhead and a ‘Statement of Purpose’ (SOP) of 100 to 250 words explaining why you are suitable for this internship.
