News India Live, Digital Desk: In Sanatan Dharma, Maharishi Durvasa is considered to be the incarnation of ‘Rudra’ form of Lord Shiva. Gods, demons and even the Trinity remained bowed before his anger. According to mythological beliefs, there are many incidents related to his life where his curse changed the direction of creation.

1. Noise in Vaikuntha and curse of Sri Hari

The most famous incident is when Maharishi Durvasa reached Vaikuntha to meet Lord Vishnu.

Gatekeepers’ mistake: At that time Lord Vishnu was resting and the gatekeepers (Jai-Vijay) stopped the sage from going inside.

Flame of anger: Feeling insulted, the anger of sage Durvasa reached the seventh heaven. Every corner of Vaikuntha started trembling due to his brilliance. He cursed that the Lord whose darshan he was prevented would himself have to take human incarnation to suffer on earth.

Result: Due to the effect of this curse and other pastimes, Lord Vishnu had to endure human suffering and separation by taking incarnations like Ram and Krishna.

2. King Ambarish and the pursuit of Sudarshan Chakra

In another incident, when Durvasa tried to curse the devotee king Ambarisha:

Protection of devotee: Lord Vishnu to protect his devotee Sudarshan Chakra Sent to.

Sage in refuge: Sudarshan Chakra followed sage Durvasa in all three worlds. When they approached Brahma and Shiva for help, they also refused. Ultimately, he had to take refuge in Sri Hari in Vaikuntha, who asked him to seek forgiveness from King Ambarisha.

3. Anger on Shakuntala and Rukmini

Shakuntala: Durvasa himself had cursed Shakuntala that the one in whose thoughts she was lost would forget her. For this reason King Dushyant could not recognize his beloved.

Goddess Rukmini: Once, as per the condition of Durvasa, Krishna and Rukmini had to pull his chariot. When Krishna gave water to Rukmini when she felt thirsty on the way, the sage got angry and cursed Rukmini of separation from Krishna.
