News India Live, Digital Desk: A disappointing news has come to the fore for millions of fans who are eagerly waiting for the third part of the cult classic comedy film ‘Hera Pheri’. Bollywood’s ‘Khiladi’ Akshay Kumar himself has confirmed that ‘Hera Pheri 3’ has been put on hold for the time being. In a recent interview, the actor revealed that due to several complex legal disputes and rights issues, work on the film will not start for at least another year.

‘I myself got shocked’ – Akshay Kumar

While talking in the podcast of YouTuber Shubhankar Mishra, Akshay Kumar revealed this news. Akshay said, “Hera Pheri 3 is not being made as of now. To be honest, when I came to know about it, I myself was shocked.” Akshay further told that there were full preparations to bring together the trio of Raju, Shyam and Baburao, but legal hurdles have put brakes on it.

Why did the film get stuck? South’s production house staked claim

The main reason for the halt of the film is said to be the ‘copyright’ dispute. According to reports, a South Indian production house (Seven Arts International) has claimed that producer Firoz Nadiadwala does not have the rights to this franchise. This matter is currently in the court. Apart from this, there is also a problem regarding music rights and some old contracts.

‘Till old age comes’ Akshay quipped

During the interview, Akshay also expressed his concern over the delay of the film in a humorous tone. He said, “I just hope that by the time everything goes well and the film is made, all three of us (Akshay, Sunil Shetty and Paresh Rawal) do not become too old.” However, he consoled the fans and said that there is no rift between the three actors and they will soon be seen together in the film ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.

Paresh Rawal’s ‘Exit and Entry’ also increased confusion

‘Hera Pheri 3’ has been in controversy for some time now. First the news of Akshay Kumar leaving the film came, then the news of Paresh Rawal’s exit from the project troubled the fans. However, Paresh Rawal’s return was later confirmed, but now legal disputes have issued a ‘yellow alert’ on the future of the film.
