Usually the meetings of the District Magistrate (DM) are very serious and have strict discipline, but in a DM meeting in Baghpat, there was chaos when a ‘langur’ sat directly on the sir’s table. The special thing was that DM Saheb also did not get distracted after seeing this uninvited guest and continued his talk very calmly.

According to the information, an important meeting of farmers and administrative officials was going on in the District Magistrate’s office of Baghpat. Sugarcane payment and local problems were being discussed in the meeting when suddenly a pet langur (whose name is said to be ‘Matru’) entered the office. Langur went straight to the DM’s table and sat down and started looking very carefully at the files and the people present there.

The sitting of the langur on the table created panic among the officials and farmers for a moment, but soon the atmosphere became pleasant.

DM’s patience: Baghpat DM Jitendra Pratap Singh handled the situation with great patience. He neither frightened the langur nor gave strict instructions to the security personnel to remove it.

Farmers’ response: The farmers present there were also stunned to see this scene. The monkey remained sitting on the table for a long time and it seemed as if he too was listening to the proceedings of the meeting very attentively.

In fact, there is a huge terror of monkeys in many government offices of western Uttar Pradesh. Monkeys often tear files or attack people. To deal with these, the administration often takes the help of trained monkeys. This langur was probably part of the same security squad, which, while performing its duty, reached Sahib’s chamber directly.
