Jammu/Srinagar: There is now news of relief amid the ongoing rain in Jammu and Kashmir for the last few days and snowfall in the high altitude areas. With the impact of Western Disturbance reducing, the weather is gradually moving towards becoming stable. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department (IMD), the weather in the state is expected to remain completely dry from April 17 after partial change for the next few days.

Detailed forecast for next 10 days

The roadmap released by the Meteorological Department from April 10 to April 20 is as follows:

10 April: at some places in the afternoon or evening Light rain, thunder and hailstorm is likely to.

11 and 12 April: It will be partly cloudy. Light showers may occur at isolated places during late evening or night.

13 and 14 April: weather mainly dry and normal Will remain.

15 and 16 April: Once again, slight activity of western disturbance may cause cloud cover and light rain at some places.

17 to 20 April: The weather will be completely dry, due to which there are chances of sunny weather.

Mercury will rise by 4 to 6 degrees

According to meteorologists, the day temperature in both Jammu and Kashmir divisions during the next 6 days will 4 to 6 degrees Celsius There will be a gradual increase. At present the temperature remains below normal, but from April 13 onwards the feeling of heat will start increasing.

After clear weather throughout the day on Thursday, the temperature dropped due to sudden rain and snowfall in the evening. Minimum temperature in Gulmarg -2.5 degrees Celsius Till now, snowfall was also recorded.

Warning for high altitude areas

Due to the active Western Disturbance, there is still a possibility of light snowfall in the higher altitude areas. However, the rainy season in the plains now seems to be stopping. The Meteorological Department has advised that people traveling in high hilly areas should leave their homes only after seeing the weather conditions.
