An Indian employee has lost his life in a missile attack by Iran on a power and water desalination plant in Kuwait. The attack was so severe that the plant’s service building and surrounding infrastructure suffered massive damage. This great war that broke out in the Gulf countries is now engulfing innocent foreign workers, causing a wave of grief and anger at the global level.
‘Iranian aggression’ on Kuwait’s power plant
Kuwait’s Electricity Ministry spokesperson Fatima Abbas Johar Hayat issued an official statement saying that an important power and water purification plant of the country was targeted as part of Iranian aggression. An Indian laborer posted on duty there died in this attack. The spokesperson has termed this incident as an attack on the sovereignty of Kuwait. It is noteworthy that since Sunday night there has been a power outage in Tehran and surrounding areas due to air strikes, due to which the situation has become even more tense.
Missile debris fell in UAE, 5 Indian citizens injured
The crisis is not limited to Kuwait only, Indian citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) are also burning in the fire of this war. The UAE’s air defense system shot down an Iranian ballistic missile in the air, but its debris fell near ‘Khalifa Economic Zone, Abu Dhabi’ (KEZAD). Five Indian citizens have been injured after being hit by this debris. Abu Dhabi Media Office confirmed the injuries and appealed to the public not to pay heed to rumours. In previous attacks also, one Indian and one Pakistani citizen have lost their lives.
Donald Trump’s warning and sounds of ground attack
US President Donald Trump has already taken a tough stance on the crisis, warning that if Iran does not come to the table for a peace deal, its power stations will be completely destroyed. Meanwhile, murmurs of a ground operation have intensified with the arrival of a warship with 3,500 additional US troops in the area. Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Baghar Ghalibaf also hit back and said that any American ground action will be responded to with full force.
