Earlier, to get the name of a new member added to the family (such as the birth of a child or the arrival of a new daughter-in-law), one had to visit government offices and stand in long queues. Now you can do this easily by visiting the food supply portal of your state. Follow the step-by-step process given below:
- Visit your state portal: First of all, visit the official website of your state food supply department (State Food Supply Portal). For example, residents of Uttar Pradesh can visit fcs.up.gov.in.
- Create Login ID: If you are using the portal for the first time, create a login ID. If you already have an ID, login with it.
- Choose the correct option: After login, find ‘Add New Member’ or similar option on the homepage and click on it.
- Fill the form: Now an application form will open in front of you. In this, fill all the required information of the head of the family and the new member (like name, date of birth, Aadhaar number, relation to the head etc.) carefully.
- Upload Documents: After filling the form, you have to upload the scanned copy of the required documents of the new member, such as – Birth Certificate (for child) or Marriage Certificate (for daughter-in-law) and Aadhar Card.
- Submit Form: After uploading all the information and documents, submit the form. Once submitted, you will receive an application or reference number, which you should keep safe. With this number you can track the status of your application online.
How to add mobile number to Aadhar card? Know the method of online appointment
For many online government works, it is mandatory to link your mobile number with your Aadhar card, because OTP comes on it for verification. Note that this work cannot be done sitting at home, for this you will have to go to the Aadhar Centre, but you can book an appointment online to avoid the queue.
- Visit UIDAI website: First of all go to the official website of Aadhaar (UIDAI).
- Book an Appointment: Go to ‘My Aadhaar’ section on the homepage and click on the option of ‘Book an Appointment’.
- Select location: Select your city or nearby location and click on ‘Proceed to Book Appointment’.
- Fill details: Verify with OTP by entering your mobile number and captcha code. Now enter the new mobile number you want to link.
- Select time and date: Select the appointment date and time (Time Slot) as per your convenience and submit the form.
- Go to Aadhaar Centre: Go to the nearest Aadhaar center with the receipt on the chosen date and time. The employee there will take your biometric details and complete the process of linking your mobile number within minutes.
