Wait before investing money in the stock market! Is Telegram Guruji making you poor?

These days, some vicious fraudsters are taking advantage of this dream and desire to “make quick money”. And it has become their new weapon Telegram.

If you are also new to the stock market or have joined any Telegram group where claims of “Guaranteed Profit” are being made, then be careful. This may prove to be the biggest mistake of your life.

How does this ‘game’ start?
It starts very innocently. You are suddenly added to an unknown Telegram group or channel. There are thousands of people (often bots or fake IDs) praising a so-called “market expert”.

This “expert” claims that he has such “insider news” (insider tip), which will double or triple the money. To lure you, fake screenshots of profits are shared in the group—“Look, he earned 50 thousand today,” “He earned 1 lakh.” And that’s where you get caught in the trap of greed.

Two main methods of fraud:

1. Pump and Dump: These fraudsters ask you to buy shares of a very cheap and worthless company (Penny Stock). Since there are thousands of people in the group, when everyone buys together, the price of that share goes up for some time (Pump). You think the tip was correct. But as soon as the price increases, these swindlers exit by selling their shares at a higher price and the price falls suddenly (Dump). Who suffers the loss in the end? Only yours.
2. Fake Apps: Some cases are even more dangerous. These fraudsters ask you to download a particular ‘trading app’. You put money in it, you also see the profit on the screen, but when you try to withdraw that money, you find out that the app itself was fake and your money has gone to the fraudsters.

How to identify and prevent?

• There is no free lunch: Why would anyone give you free tips to get rich in the stock market? If they really had a magic tip, they would have become rich themselves, not messaged you in groups.
• Registered with SEBI or not?: To provide investment advice in India SEBI Registration is necessary. 99% of Telegram “experts” do not have this license. They are doing illegal work.
• Exit unknown groups: If you have been added to any such group without asking, immediately press the ‘Exit’ button and report it.
• Don’t be afraid of questions: If someone is asking you for money or is taking you to some unknown app, then understand that the pulse is not black, the entire pulse is black.

Don’t leave your hard-earned money in the hands of anyone. Invest, but with your understanding and the right advisor, and not on some unknown message on Telegram. Be alert, stay safe!
