Now why is this unique rule of shoes outside and brain inside in the office becoming popular in tech companies?

News India Live, Digital Desk: When we talk about office, only one picture comes to mind – bright clothes, tie around the neck and shining black shoes on the feet. This has been considered as ‘professionalism’ in the corporate world. But, wait! Times are changing and so is the way of working.

Nowadays, a new and unique trend has started in tech companies and new age startups- “No Shoes Policy”. That is, inside the office you will have to take off your shoes and slippers only.

This sounds like a rule in a temple or at home, doesn’t it? But why are big companies adopting it? There are some very logical and interesting reasons behind this.

1. Home away from home
Startups recognize that we spend most of the day in the office. If the employee doesn’t feel relaxed, how will his brain function? After taking off the shoes, a person feels physically more light and comfortable. When feet are free from the ‘jail’ (shoes), a person gets ‘home like’ comfort, which reduces stress levels and increases creativity.

2. Working with bean bags and sitting on the ground
Nowadays, modern offices do not just have chairs. People like to work sitting on bean bags, sofa or carpet. In such a situation, if everyone comes wearing dirty shoes, then how will you be able to sit comfortably on the carpet? With shoes out of the way, the office floor remains so clean that you can cross-legged anywhere and open your laptop.

3. Dirt out, health in
Thousands of types of dirt, dust and bacteria from the roads stick to the soles of shoes. When we take off our shoes outside, the office environment (air quality) remains cleaner. This is very important for hygiene, especially in places where air keeps circulating inside due to AC.

4. Equality
This point is very deep. Shoes are often a ‘status symbol’. Some wear shoes worth thousands, some wear ordinary ones. When everyone takes off their shoes and is in socks or barefoot, on a psychological level ‘everyone seems equal’. It increases the feeling of unity in the team.

Isn’t this strange?
Initially people may find it strange, but in the offices where it has been implemented, the employees say that now they feel strange just sitting wearing shoes. Many companies even provide soft slippers to their employees to wear inside the office.

So friends, don’t be surprised if tomorrow your boss says, “Brother, take off your shoes.” Understand that your office is now becoming modern!
