New Year’s celebration turns into mourning! Massive fire in a hotel in Switzerland, painful death of 47 people, know how everything got burnt to ashes in a few seconds

While the whole world was celebrating the New Year 2026, some people were dying in a beautiful ski resort in Switzerland. On the very first day of the New Year, the death toll in a massive fire at a bar here has risen to 47, and this figure is likely to rise further.

This heart-wrenching incident took place at ‘Le Constellation’ bar in Switzerland’s famous alpine resort Crans-Montana, where people had gathered for a New Year party.

‘Heaven’ became ‘hell’ in the blink of an eye! (How did the fire start?)

The biggest reason that the investigating officers are giving so far is very scary. They believe that the fire spread so fast due to an incident called ‘flashover’ that no one even got a chance to escape.

What exactly is this ‘flashover’?
Understand it in very simple language.

  • When there is a fire in a closed room, poisonous and hot gases rise up along with the smoke and start accumulating on the ceiling.
  • This layer of hot gases spreads throughout the room and increases the temperature rapidly, just like in a pressure cooker.
  • When the temperature reaches a dangerous level (about 600°C), everything in the room – be it a chair, a table, curtains or a person’s clothes – catches fire simultaneously, in an instant.

Fire experts say, “Flashover does not mean just one thing catching fire, but the entire room becoming a ball of fire simultaneously.” And perhaps this is the reason why the people present in that bar did not even get a chance to recover or run away.

Not a terrorist attack, a terrible accident
Swiss officials have made it clear that this is not a terrorist attack, but a terrible accident. Rescue operations continued throughout the night, with multiple ambulances and helicopters deployed to rescue the injured. Forensic teams are still investigating the spot to find out the real cause of the fire.

This incident is a warning to all of us that safety should never be ignored even during celebrations, otherwise even a small carelessness can cause a huge disaster.
