News India Live, Digital Desk: We all know that in today’s era, smartphone has become the heartbeat of our life, and to maintain this heartbeat, the most important thing is power bank (Power Bank). Be it a short or long journey, we may forget to keep clothes, but never forget to keep a charger and power bank in the bag.

But if you are thinking of going to China or are going to take a connecting flight from there, then wait! China has made some strict new rules regarding carrying power banks during air travel, which has created a stir all over the world. This news is important for every person who travels by plane.

What is the matter after all? (What’s the issue?)

Till now the rule was very simple – you could carry a power bank within a certain limit (mostly 20,000 or 27,000 mAh) in your cabin bag. But China’s new policy has made it very complicated. According to the report, China has created a ‘ban’ like environment on most of the power banks citing poor quality and safety.

What is special in the new rules?

The Civil Aviation Administration of China has made it clear that now only those power banks which are completely ‘standard’ will be used in flights.

  1. Must have labels: If the information written on your power bank (e.g. capacity, brand name, voltage) is worn out or illegible, it will be immediately confiscated by airport security. You won’t even be able to argue.
  2. Branding required: No-name, cheap or locally purchased power banks (what we often call ‘jugaad’ chargers) may now be completely prohibited on flights.
  3. Fear of Lithium Battery: This decision has been taken to prevent incidents of fire. Old and defective lithium batteries can explode like a bomb under air pressure.

Increased concern among global travelers

China is a huge manufacturing and travel hub of the world. In such a situation, these rules will not only affect the people of China but also every international traveler passing through there. Many passengers fear that their branded power bank worth thousands of rupees might have to be thrown away just because there is a small scratch on it or the sticker is not clearly visible.

Our Suggestion (Expert Advice)

If you are going to travel by air in the future, do not take risks:

  • Try to always keep a good branded power bank with you.
  • Check that its capacity (Wh or mAh) is clearly written on it.
  • Do not travel with a very old or swollen power bank, it is also a threat to your life.

Safety is important, but being aware of the rules is even more important. Make your journey easy, stay alert!
