News India Live, Digital Desk: As winter approaches, many of our habits change. Consumption of tea and coffee increases and drinking of water decreases. But do you know that this small habit of yours can cause a big problem, i.e. urine infection or UTI (Urinary Tract Infection)? This problem especially increases in women in winter.

In urine infection, symptoms like burning sensation while urinating, feeling of frequent urination, pain in the lower abdomen and sometimes fever are seen. If you are also experiencing such symptoms, then along with seeing a doctor, you can also adopt some effective home remedies, which will help in giving you immediate relief.

1. Drinking water is the biggest cure

This may sound very common, but it is a panacea for urine infection. In winter, we often forget to drink water, due to which bacteria starts accumulating in the body. When you drink plenty of water, you urinate frequently, which flushes out the bacteria present in the urinary tract from the body. Drink at least 8-10 glasses of water a day.

2. Coconut water will give relief from burning sensation

If you are facing the problem of burning sensation during urination, then coconut water is no less than a boon for you. It not only keeps your body hydrated, but its nutrients also help fight infection-causing bacteria. Coconut water also cools the stomach, which provides instant relief from burning sensation.

3. Barley Water

Barley water is an excellent natural diuretic, that is, it increases the amount of urine. It helps in cleaning the kidneys and removing toxic substances from the body. Wash a handful of barley thoroughly and boil it in water. When the water is reduced to half, filter it, cool it and drink it two to three times a day.

4. Amla and citrus fruits

Amla is a treasure trove of Vitamin C. Vitamin C strengthens the body’s immunity and makes urine slightly acidic, which prevents bacteria from growing. You can eat Amla juice, murabba or raw Amla. Apart from this, sour fruits like orange and sweet lime are also very beneficial.

5. Eat curd

Curd contains probiotics i.e. good bacteria. These good bacteria work to eliminate the bad bacteria that cause infection in our body. Including a bowl of fresh curd in your diet daily not only provides relief from urine infection, but also reduces the risk of it occurring in future.

Also keep these things in mind:

  • Avoid tea, coffee and spicy food during infection.
  • Take special care of cleanliness.
  • Do not make the mistake of holding urine for too long.

Important advice:
It is important to note that while these home remedies may provide relief in initial symptoms, they are in no way a substitute for medical treatment. If your problem is serious or you are not getting relief in two-three days, then contact the doctor without any delay.
