Srinagar Blast 2007: There were only dead bodies and smoke all around, the unheard reality of that terrible scene in Srinagar.

That night everything was normal in Srinagar. People were in their homes, resting after a tiring day. The silence of the night was spreading, but who knew that the silence was about to be broken by a terrible storm. Late at night, around 11 pm. Suddenly, a huge bang shook the entire city. The sound was so loud that the windows and doors of houses several kilometers away trembled. People came out of their houses in fear, everyone was asking each other – “What happened?” Whoever saw that scene with his own eyes, his soul still trembles. The police station located in the Naugam area of the city was surrounded by smoke and fire. A large part of the building was reduced to debris. The blast was so powerful that it damaged nearby buildings and the vehicles parked at the police station were engulfed in flames. According to an eyewitness, it was heart-wrenching. He said, “There was smoke everywhere and dead bodies scattered. There was a strange smell of gunpowder in the air.” At least nine people had lost their lives in that horrific accident, most of them policemen, and More than 25 people were injured. Later it was discovered that there was no terrorist attack, but there was a massacre. A huge amount of money was seized in the police station and it was detonated. The explosive device was recovered from an interstate terror module. The police and forensic team were taking samples from the explosive device for testing when it accidentally exploded. It happened. But for that night, the scene was more horrifying than any other. The sirens of ambulances and the screams of people echoed everywhere. The blast left a deep wound on him.
