On Monday, November 10, 2025, a powerful explosion at the Red Fort shook Delhi. The explosion, which took place at 6:52 pm near Gate No. 1 of the Red Fort metro station, caused heavy damage to vehicles parked nearby. Nine people died and more than 20 were injured in this incident. The explosion is under serious investigation. CCTV footage revealed that the i20 car that caused the blast was parked in a parking lot near the Red Fort for about three hours. During investigation, police found out that the car was parked at 3:19 am and had left the parking lot at 6:48 pm. Just four minutes later there was an explosion. In the footage, a suspicious person is also seen sitting in the car.
Investigation to identify suspect
Police are scanning CCTV footage of the surrounding areas to find out who entered the car, who parked it and who took it back. They are also investigating how the car reached near the Red Fort, first in the parking lot and then near the red light area.

On Tuesday morning (November 11), a team of FSL and security personnel were present at the blast site and investigation is underway. More than 100 CCTV footages, including those from a nearby toll plaza, are being examined. Late in the evening, the police detained the former owner of the car, Mohammad Salman, for questioning. Investigation revealed that he had sold the car to a person named Devendra in Okhla about one and a half years ago. Later, it was sold to someone else in Ambala and then the car reached Tariq’s Havel in Pulwama. Police are searching for all the concerned people.
According to sources, in the investigation so far, there is a possibility of Faridabad being linked to the terrorist network. Intelligence agencies suspect that Dr. Omar Mohammad of Jammu and Kashmir was traveling in the I-20 car.
