News India Live, Digital Desk: If today you plan to leave the southern part of Delhi, especially Chhatarpur, Mehrauli or surrounding areas, then wait for a while before leaving the house. Due to a big padyatra of Dhirendra Krishna Shastri of Bageshwar Dham, there is a possibility of heavy traffic jam on these roads today. Delhi Traffic Police has already issued advisories and closed or diverted many routes to save people from trouble.

Why has the traffic route been changed?

Actually, today a padyatra is starting from Adi Katyayani Shaktipeeth temple of Chhatarpur which will go to Mathura-Vrindavan. This yatra is being led by Dhirendra Krishna Shastri and around 50,000 people are expected to participate in it. Obviously, when such a large number of people and vehicles are on the road, there is bound to be traffic problems. Therefore, the traffic police has made some special arrangements to maintain smooth functioning.

Which roads will remain closed and what are the alternative arrangements?

This padyatra will start from Chhatarpur temple at 11 am and pass through different routes. Therefore, the traffic police has controlled the movement of vehicles on many important routes.

  • 11 am to 8 pm: The road from Y-Point Chhatarpur to Dera Mod via SSN Marg will be completely closed for vehicles.
  • 8 am to 4 pm: Traffic will also be stopped from CDR Chowk towards Y-Point Chhatarpur.
  • 8 am to 8 pm: Traffic will also be affected between Dera Mod and Y-Point, Chhatarpur.
  • From 1 pm today till tomorrow morning: The road between Jeer Khod and Dera Mod will also remain closed. Its effect will also be visible tomorrow morning i.e. on 8th November.

The police have given clear instructions not to make the mistake of parking your car on these roads, otherwise your car may be towed.

If it is necessary to leave, where to go?

Police have suggested some alternative routes for the convenience of passengers:

  • To go to Faridabad: Those who want to go to Faridabad via SSN route can take the MG Road route directly from CDR Chowk.
  • To go to Gurugram: People going towards Gurugram via SSN route should use Mandi Road from CDR Chowk.
  • To reach Chhatarpur: People coming to Chhatarpur from Dera village can come to MG Road via Bandh Road via Mandi Road.

It would be better to avoid going to these areas today or use public transport like metro. If it is very important to go, then leave home with a little more time so that you do not get stuck in traffic.
