The DGP (Director General of Police) of the state has given a very big and assured statement, according to which Naxalism in Jharkhand is now in its ‘final phase’. He has claimed that the number of Naxalites active in the state has come down to less than 70. This is the result of the hard work of the security forces, the strong will of the government and the continuous operations.
The DGP said that in the last few years, there have been a rampage campaign against the Naxalites. Security forces targeted a stronghold of Naxalites hiding in forests and inaccessible areas, causing them heavy losses. Many big Naxalite leaders have either been killed, arrested or have surrendered. The result of this is that today the problem of Naxalism from Jharkhand is almost on the verge of ending.
The end of Naxalism will bring a new dawn to Jharkhand, because this will speed up the pace of development and common people will be able to live a normal life by coming out of the atmosphere of fear. Basic facilities like roads, schools and hospitals will expand, which was not possible earlier in Naxal -affected areas. This DGP’s statement is a new ray for the people of Jharkhand that soon the state will be completely Naxalism free and will move towards peaceful development.
