Kanwar Yatra 2024: Travel of Shiva devotees from Bihar to Babadham and other pagoda

News India Live, Digital Desk: Kanwar Yatra 2024: As soon as the Holy Sawan month begins, there has been a supernatural color of Shiva Bhakti in Bihar. Millions of Shiva devotees have walked from holy rivers to the pagoda to fulfill their religious journey ‘Kavad’. The whole atmosphere is echoing with the cheers of Bolbaum, and especially on the first Monday of Sawan, there is a huge crowd everywhere. There are many important and traditional routes of the Kandar Yatra in Bihar, through which devotees pass through and reach various Shiva temples. Among them, the road to Baba Baidyanath Dham (Deoghar) in Jharkhand is the most prominent, for which millions of Shiva devotees fill the holy water of Northwahini Ganga from Sultanganj in Bhagalpur and travel about 105 kilometers on foot. This route is famous for its hard climb and unwavering reverence of devotees. In addition, there are many important pagoda within Bihar where local devotees reach in large numbers. Baba Garibnath Dham in Muzaffarpur is another major center. Devotees usually come to Muzaffarpur via Motihari (East Champaran) to reach here. In East Champaran itself, devotees take water from the Bagmati river for Someshwar Nath Dham, which is an important point of the Kandar Yatra in this region. A large number of devotees also gather for the Brahmapura Shiva temple at Brahmapura in Muzaffarpur. These devotees mainly take water from Gandak or old Gandak rivers. Similar local rivers also act as water sources for the pagoda located in Vaishali, where the surrounding Kawadia reaches Baba Bholenath with holy water. On all these routes, the state government and local administration have made detailed arrangements for the safety and convenience of the kanwadi. Health camps, security posts and adequate water and food arrangements are being ensured on various routes, so that all the devotees can fulfill their journey during the Mahaparva of this faith. This spiritual energy of Sawan is maintaining a devotional atmosphere throughout the state.
