  • Religion, Caste (SC/ST)

  • Level of education

  • Marriage status

Why is the census necessary?

This count is not just a figure. Based on this, the government makes plans for the development of the country, such as – where new schools, hospitals or roads are to be built. Also, delimitation of Lok Sabha and Assembly seats also depends on the census data.
