
Dehradun: Monsoon activism in Devbhoomi Uttarakhand is at its peak, and the Meteorological Department has now issued a serious warning. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has declared a ‘red alert’ for the state, which feared to be extremely heavy rains till 1 July. This warning is especially for some districts, where the situation may be more severe.
According to the IMD forecast, torrential rains will continue in many parts of Uttarakhand from 29 June to 1 July 2025. Districts like Bageshwar and Nainital may be vulnerable to this very heavy rainfall. Red alert means that weather conditions can be extremely dangerous and there is a possibility of mass damage.
Due to this heavy rains, the risk of landslides and rock falls in the hilly areas has increased greatly. People living near low-lying areas and river-drains may face sudden floods. The water level of rivers is expected to rise rapidly, which will affect normal life and journeys badly.
The administration is gearing up after this warning. The concerned districts and departments have been kept on alert and instructions have been given to be prepared to deal with any emergency. People have also been appealed to avoid non-essential visits for the next few days, especially before going to the mountainous areas, take information about the weather and road conditions. Stay in safe places and ignore any kind of rumors.
