Kathua 28 March (Hindus). 4-Returning Officer of Udhampur Parliamentary Constituency Dr. Rakesh Minhas scrutinized the nomination papers submitted by the candidates for the upcoming 18th Parliamentary elections. In which the candidature of 12 candidates was found valid.
The investigation process was done in the Returning Officer office of Udhampur parliamentary constituency on Thursday. After thorough scrutiny, the nomination forms of 12 candidates include Amit Kumar from Bahujan Samaj Party, Balwan Singh from J&K National Panthers Party, Dr. Jitendra Singh from Bharatiya Janata Party, Chaudhary Lal Singh from Indian National Congress, Manoj Kumar from Ekam Sanatan Bharat Dal, Dr. Pankaj Sharma Independent, Rajesh Manchanda Independent, Sachin Gupta Independent, Swarn Veer Singh Jaral Independent, Ghulam Mohammad Saroori Independent, Mohammad Ali Gujjar Independent and Mehraj Deen Independent. Who were found to be validly nominated candidates. The scrutiny was conducted in the presence of contesting candidates and representatives of political parties. According to the election notification issued, candidates can withdraw their nomination in the office of the Returning Officer before 3 pm on March 30, 2024. The first phase of general elections in this constituency is to be held on April 19.
