
IRCTC Account Close: IRCTC, the online ticket booking service of the railway, has closed more than 2 crore fake accounts. IRCTC has appealed to him to link his account to the Aadhaar card as soon as possible, so that their account remains safe and there is no problem in ticket booking.
The Railways has also announced an additional 10 minutes for booking Tatkal tickets on Aadhaar verified accounts, so that regular passengers can easily book tickets. At the same time, those who are not linked to Aadhaar are likely to be closed and they will not be able to avail ticket booking service.
In the last six months, IRCTC has been using the AI-based tools to identify and close the accounts that booked tickets through bots or automated tools. Out of a total of 13 crore accounts of IRCTC, only 1.2 crore accounts are verified by Aadhaar. The railway has made it clear that the accounts that do not get Aadhaar verified will be strictly investigated and they will be closed forever if needed.
Aadhaar linking necessary, facility will be available in ticket booking
Railways has made Aadhaar certification mandatory in Tatkal ticket booking. Aadhaar -linked account holders will get additional 10 minutes during Tatkal ticket booking. At the same time, ticket booking has also been banned through agents, so that passengers can take advantage of the facility directly.
Simple stages to link Aadhaar card to IRCTC account
- IRCTC website www.irctc.co.in log onto .
- Go to the ‘My Account’ section.
- Choose the option ‘Link your Aadhaar’.
- Enter the name mentioned on the Aadhaar number and Aadhaar card.
- Verify by entering the OTP received on the mobile number connected to the Aadhaar card.
- Click on the ‘Update’ button.
- A confirmation message will appear on the screen and your account will be linked.
