Italian origin Carlo Acuteis, called “Gods Influencers”, was to be given the title of saint. However, after the death of Pope Francis on 21 April 2025, the process has been postponed for some time. Carlo Acuteis, who would be the first Millennial (born between 1981–1996) to receive the title of saint, died of leukemia at the age of 15. It was decided to give him a saint status 20 years after Carlo’s death.
Carlo’s name was related to miraculous events
The statement issued by the Pope’s press office said that on 27 April 2025, the ritual of declaring Carlo Acuteis a saint has been postponed. But every year hundreds of pilgrims visit the tomb of Karlo, and their miraculous incidents are constantly reported. According to a report by ‘The Sun’, Carlo had miraculously saved the lives of 2 people.
The first case is related to a woman named Liliana of Costa Rica. His daughter suffered serious injuries after falling from the bicycle and his life was less expected to survive. But when Liliana prayed at Carlo’s grave on 8 July 2022, her daughter was completely cured. The second miracle took place in 2023, when a boy touched Carlo’s clothes, and then he was completely cured with pancreatic disease.
Process of becoming a saint
The title of saint in Roman Catholic Church can be given to a person of any age, but this status is obtained only after death. To become a saint, a person has to do many miracles in his life. The status of a saint can also be given even after recognizing miracles posthumously. According to Catholicism, Pope Francis recognized the miracles performed by Carlo, and the process of making him saints was started on the basis of this.
Carlo’s religious visit
Carlo was more religious than other children since childhood. He had learned coding at an early age and listed the miracles happening in the Catholic society by creating a website and spread the teachings of the church. Carlo will be the first Millennial to become a saint, and the St. Making Department recommended for him.
