2 factor verification will be mandatory for NPS account holders, know when the new rules will be implemented

NPS New Rule 2024: If you are an account holder of 'National Pension System' (NPS) then this news is for you. The Pension Fund Regulator (PFRDA) has decided to make some changes in the existing login process of the National Pension System (NPS). These new rules on the next date. It will be implemented from 1st April 2024 i.e. next month.

Security features have been enhanced

Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) has informed that it is going to increase its security features. Now two-factor authentication will be required to login to NPS account. One can log in to the Central Record Keeping Agency (CRS) system after the two-factor authentication process. The Pension Fund Director has also published a circular in this regard.

Aadhaar verification required

PFRDA issued a circular in this regard saying that now one more security has been added to log in to the CRS system. This new rule will come into effect from April 1, 2024. After this, an OTP will be sent to the mobile number linked to Aadhaar along with the user ID and password to the NPS account holders. So from now on users will be able to log in to their CRA system only after entering this OTP. PFRDA in its circular said that Aadhaar based login authentication will make login into CRA more secure.

Currently this arrangement is running

Currently NPS account holders require only NPS ID and password to log in to the CRA system. In which now new Aadhaar Aadhaar verification security feature has been added. So now users will have to enter the ID password as well as Aadhaar authentication i.e. OTP on the mobile number linked to Aadhaar.
