Port of Prince: The situation has gone out of control in Haiti, an island country located in the Caribbean Sea. On Monday morning, armed bandits suddenly started attacking the capital and surrounding areas in the Port of Prince. So on Monday itself, there is news of more than 12 people being killed.
Apart from the capital, armed bandits also vandalized houses in Lambube and Thomson. Therefore people had to leave their homes and run away. Some people made announcements on radio stations and asked for help from the police, but that help came too late and too little. By then the dacoits had completed their work.
Earlier also on 29th February, dacoits had looted. At that time, a photojournalist saw the bodies of at least 12 people lying on the road in Parisonville, which is on the border of the Labaude and Thomson districts. In short, a civil war-like situation prevails in Haiti. A few days ago, these bandits had set fire to a police post and targeted the two biggest jails of the country.
In fact, with the ongoing movement demanding the resignation of Prime Minister Ariel Henry, armed clashes have started in the country.
About 90 Indians are currently living in Haiti. India does not have an embassy in Haiti, but has an embassy in the nearby island nation of Dominican Republic. This embassy takes care of Indians based in Haiti. Now she is making arrangements to take the 75-90 Indians present there to a safe place if needed.
