Tata's CNG car with turbo engine
Tata Motors has introduced the Nexon iCNG concept at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2024 held a few days ago. Its production version is expected to go on sale in India in the coming months and it will become India's first turbo petrol car equipped with CNG technology.
Tata Nexon iCNG
Taking advantage of the excitement created by the facelifted Nexon, Tata Motors will introduce a CNG version of it. Tata launched ICNG technology a few years ago with the Tiago and Tigor, which come with twin cylinders. However, the arrival of the country's first twin-cylinder iCNG technology, without compromising on boot space, is a huge development.
Specifications on Features
Tata claims that the Nexon iCNG will provide better drivability and performance on various terrains with higher ground clearance due to advanced low-end torque and sophisticated calibration. The factory-fit CNG system kit comes with thermal event protection, leakage detection feature, micro switch, 6-point cylinder mounting scheme, single ECU and high-quality materials.
engine
It will use the familiar 1.2-litre three-cylinder turbo petrol engine that produces 120 PS and 170 Nm, but with lower performance outputs. It will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission, while an AMT may also be on offer.
