A major road accident took place on Tuesday in Balnoi sector of Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir. In this accident, an army vehicle fell into a deep ditch. White Knight Corps posted information on Twitter saying that an army vehicle met with an accident while on operational duty in Poonch sector. Five soldiers have died in this accident. White Knight Corps has expressed grief over the death of the soldiers. Rescue work is going on at the spot and the injured are being treated.

Regarding the accident, police officials said, “A military vehicle of 11 Maratha Light Infantry, which was going from Neelam Headquarters near the Line of Control towards Balnoi Ghora Post, met with an accident near Ghora Post at around 17:40 pm on Tuesday evening. . He told that the vehicle fell into a ditch about 150 feet deep, due to which 10 soldiers including the driver were seriously injured. A quick reaction team (QRT) of 11 Maratha Light Infantry and a police team from Mankot reached the spot and started rescue operations.

The army has denied any terrorist angle behind the accident. According to an Army spokesperson in Jammu, the 2.5-tonne military vehicle, which was heading towards an operational area in a convoy of six other military vehicles, suddenly fell into a deep gorge. This incident happened near the LOC with Pakistan. All the injured were taken to Field Hospital Poonch immediately after the incident.

According to the Army, the reasons behind the incident are being ascertained and preliminary investigation suggests that the driver of the vehicle may have lost his balance.
