Jaipur, 2 December (Hindustan Reporter). BJP State President Madan Rathod discussed Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Krishak Mitra BJP government, illegal conversion, and actions of BJP government in Rajasthan with journalists at his New Delhi residence. He said that the BJP governments at the Center and in Rajasthan are continuously doing public welfare work. While the Central Government is working towards implementing the Uniform Citizenship Act, the ERCP scheme is being given shape in Rajasthan under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma. This scheme will prove to be a historic step in providing irrigation to lakhs of farmers and providing relief to the common people from the drinking water problem. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay its foundation stone in Dadiya, Jaipur.
Madan Rathod said that the draft of the ERCP project was prepared in 2015-16. However, the previous Congress government worked to stop this important project. The BJP government gave priority to this project as soon as it came to power and took it forward in collaboration with the Madhya Pradesh government. Now its foundation stone is going to be laid, in which about three lakh people from across the state are expected to participate. This project will provide a permanent solution to the drinking water problem along with providing adequate irrigation water to the farmers.
Rejecting the allegations of the opposition, the BJP President said that instead of obstructing positive work, the opposition should cooperate on issues of public interest. He said that the BJP government has started work on many projects like ERCP, PKC and Jawai Recharge Scheme. Besides, recharge of dams, canals and other water resources is also being given priority.
Talking about the Uniform Civil Code (UCC), Rathod said that this law will provide equal rights and facilities to all. He described the steps taken by the BJP government to stop illegal conversion as historic. Rathore said that our Constitution gives the right to religious freedom to everyone, but now a strict law has been made against conversions done through inducement, pressure or spreading confusion. Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma’s cabinet has approved it and it will soon be passed in the Assembly. After this, strict legal action will be ensured in such cases.
Madan Rathore described the BJP government as ‘farmer friendly’ and said that the party has taken many important steps in the interest of farmers. Decisions like soil testing, increase in minimum support price (MSP), crop insurance, and tax exemption on agricultural equipment have been taken for the welfare of farmers. Reconstruction of structures like dams, canals and anicuts for irrigation is also being given priority. He said that the BJP government is committed to the upliftment of every section.
