Tight security arrangements at polling stations in two assembly constituencies of Ranchi

Ranchi, 19 November (HS). Voting for the second phase of Jharkhand assembly elections is to be held on November 20. Ranchi Police has completed all security preparations for the last round of voting. During this period, strict security arrangements have been made at the polling stations. Along with the police, paramilitary force personnel have taken up their positions at the polling stations. The border of Bengal adjoining Jharkhand has been sealed, because voting is to be held in Silli also.

Ranchi Police has completed security arrangements for the assembly elections. Voting will be held in two assembly constituencies of Ranchi on Wednesday. These include Khijri and Silli. Ranchi Police has made strict security arrangements regarding this. District police along with paramilitary forces have also been deployed to protect the booths.

More than four thousand forces have been deployed in both the assemblies. The soldiers have been given strict instructions to deal strictly with those creating ruckus at the booths under any circumstances. All police station in-charges have been instructed to continuously patrol the polling stations of their respective areas from now onwards.

Ranchi SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha said that a total of 35 QRT teams have been formed by Ranchi Police to conduct peaceful voting in two assembly constituencies. Apart from this, six zonal and five super zonal QRTs have also been made. IPS level police officers have been included in Super Zonal. All the members of QRT have been instructed to continuously visit the designated place and immediately arrest those carrying out suspicious activities and hand them over to the police station.

SSP said that if there is any problem at any booth, QRT will do movement. In this regard, QRT of more than 25 bike squads has been formed. A QRT will consist of about 5-6 bikes and 10 to 12 soldiers. This QRT has been given to all police station in-charges, inspectors and DSPs.
