Haridwar, 15 November (HS). Four people died, while six people were seriously injured in a horrific road accident in Mangalore Kotwali area of the district late Thursday evening. A speeding Scorpio car carrying wedding guests overturned after hitting the divider on the Delhi-Haridwar Highway. The police admitted the injured to the hospital, who were in critical condition.
Doctors have referred to higher centre. The police sent all the bodies for post-mortem. The wedding procession was coming to Roorkee from Meerut.
It is being told that the wedding procession was from Daurala in Meerut area of Uttar Pradesh. This procession was going to Chandrapuri locality of Roorkee in Scorpio. As soon as the speeding Scorpio car reached the Deoband intersection near Mangalore Gur Mandi on the Delhi-Haridwar Highway, the car collided with the divider on the highway. After which the car went out of control and overturned. As soon as the accident happened, there was an outcry among the people in the car, after which a huge crowd of people gathered at the spot. In this accident, two people died on the spot, while six people were seriously injured.
As soon as the information about the incident was received, the police immediately reached the spot and with the help of people, took the injured out of the car and admitted them to a private hospital through 108 ambulance. Two injured died during treatment here. The deceased have been identified as Sujal son of Satish resident of Akhtiyapur Daurala Meerut, Sonu son of Mukesh resident of Shahpur Meerut, Vansh son of Amit resident of Akhtiyapur Daurala Meerut, while the fourth deceased has not been identified. Apart from this, Mukul son Sudesh resident of Kutwa Kutvi police station Shahpur, Kashi son Vijay age 30 years, Tushar son Satish age 22 years, Amit son Amarpal age 22 years, Dikshant son Joginder age 20 years and one other are injured. Seeing the serious condition of the two injured, the doctors referred them to a higher centre. The police have kept all four bodies in the mortuary of Roorkee Civil Hospital.
On Friday, police officers reached the hospital and met the injured to inquire about their well-being. According to the wedding guests, everyone was going from Meerut to Roorkee in different vehicles. SP Dehat Swapan Kishore Singh said that two people died on the spot and two injured died during treatment. Everyone was coming to Roorkee in a wedding procession from Meerut.
