Ranchi, 02 November (HS). Hearing was held in Jharkhand High Court on the discharge petition filed by Sunil Yadav, accused in the illegal mining case worth Rs 1250 crore in Sahibganj. ED sought two weeks' time from the court to file its reply in the case. Accepting ED's request, the single bench of the High Court has fixed the next hearing for November 29. Sunil Yadav is currently on bail in the case, he has got bail from the Supreme Court.
The PMLA court had rejected Sunil Yadav's discharge petition, which he has challenged in the High Court. Advocate Sabyasachi presented the case on behalf of Sunil Yadav. Accused Sunil Yadav is brother of Dahu Yadav.
The ED court had issued arrest warrant against both of them. After this, Sahibganj police arrested Sunil Yadav on 26 August 2023. Sunil's brother Dahu Yadav, accused in the same case, is still absconding. ED, while investigating the illegal mining scam in Sahibganj, has found Pankaj Mishra as well as Sunil Yadav and Dahu Yadav involved in illegal mining.
