A total of 93 candidates are in the fray from five assembly constituencies of Ranchi district.

Ranchi, 30 October (Hindustan Reporter). District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Varun Ranjan said that a total of 93 candidates are in the fray from five assembly constituencies of Ranchi district. These include 18 candidates from Tamar, 18 from Ranchi, 27 from Hatia, 13 from Kanke and 17 from Mandar.

Ranjan was speaking at a joint press conference with election officials on Wednesday.

He said that in the assembly constituency where the number of candidates is more than 15, two ballot units per polling station will be established. Besides, expenditure and other election related information will be made available to all the candidates through a dedicated repository. He informed that EVMs/VVPATs used in the election process, materials given to polling personnel and appointment letters, vehicles and other related materials will be dispatched from Birsa Munda Football Stadium and Morhabadi Ground, Ranchi.

Ranjan said that all the polling parties will reach their respective designated polling center-clusters a day before the polling day. After voting, polled EVMs of total 2080 polling stations will be kept in Bajra Grih located at Agricultural Produce Market Committee, Pandara. Apart from this, the polled EVMs of 27 polling stations will be kept in Braj Griha till the next morning for security reasons. Through all the returning officers, information was also given regarding the candidates from their assembly constituencies and the election symbols allotted to them.
