Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2024: Assembly elections are going to be held in Maharashtra. There are reports that preparations are underway to field jailed notorious gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in this election. A party has sought a form from the Returning Officer for filing nomination on behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi. The name of this party is North Indian Vikas Sena.
According to reports, North Indian Vikas Sena leader Sunil Shukla wants to file nomination papers on behalf of Lawrence Bishnoi for the upcoming elections in Bandra West Assembly constituency. For this he has also asked for AB form from the Returning Officer. AB Form is a formal document required for candidature.
In a letter addressed to the returning officer, Sunil Shukla claimed that he would take Bishnoi's signature on the form and then prepare an affidavit, which would validate Lawrence Bishnoi's candidature. The letter said that if Lawrence Bishnoi gives his approval then the list of 50 candidates will be declared soon. It is noteworthy that elections will be held in Maharashtra in a single phase on November 20. Counting of votes will take place on November 23.

The letter from North Indian Vikas Sena reads, 'We are a national and registered political party of Maharashtra and as the national president of the party, we have the right to issue Form A and B for our candidates in the assembly elections. We request our candidate Balkaran Brar (Lawrence Bishnoi) to submit the nomination form.
