Gurugram, 18 October (Hindustan Reporter). Municipal Corporation Gurugram is continuously taking action against those who violate Solid Waste Management Rules-2016. Under this, sanitation teams have imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on three hotels and restaurants in Sector-29.
On Friday, the team of Senior Sanitation Inspector of Zone-3 area Harsh Chawla and Sanitation Inspector Jitendra Kumar was inspecting the cleanliness system of the area. During the inspection, the team also reached the hotel and restaurant located in Sector-29 area to check the compliance of BWG rules. During the inspection, the team found that Bikanerwala, Gola Sizzlers and Punjab Grills were not ensuring compliance with the Solid Waste Management Rules-2016.
The team imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 each on the three violators on the spot and instructed them to ensure compliance with the rules in future. According to Dr. Narhari Singh Bangar, Commissioner of Municipal Corporation Gurugram, it is mandatory for all the bulk waste generators located within the Municipal Corporation limits to follow the Solid Waste Management Rules-2016. Under this, they should divide the waste generated from their place into wet, dry and hazardous waste and dispose it in different categories.
The cleanliness teams of the corporation are continuously checking the BWG and if the rules are not followed, the concerned are being fined as per the rules. The Municipal Commissioner said that the Corporation is also running an online portal for listing BWGs, on which it has been made mandatory for all BWGs to register themselves. The Corporation has also informed all BWGs about this through notices and other publicity mediums. He called upon BWG to take up the responsibility of waste management.
