Politicians who have gone to Parliament from Jalandhar Lok Sabha constituency have been elected 18 times so far.

Jalandhar: Jalandhar has given the country a Prime Minister in IK Gujral, Union Security Minister in Swaran Singh and many other cabinet ministers and MPs. Earlier this constituency was general but from 2009 this constituency was reserved for Scheduled Castes. A total of 18 elections have been held in this Lok Sabha constituency so far, including three by-elections in 1989, 1993 and 2023. Lok Sabha elections are going to be held on this seat for the 19th time this year. From this constituency, Congress has won 13 times, while Akali Dal has won 2 times, Janata Dal, Azad and Aam Aadmi Party have won once each.
