Veteran Bollywood and TV actress Shagufta Ali recently appeared in the 1997 superhit comedy film ‘Hero Number 1’ I have candidly talked about my experiences of working with Karisma Kapoor. While on one hand he praised Karisma Kapoor’s dedication and discipline towards her work, on the other hand he also made some shocking revelations about her behavior on the set.
In an interview given on Siddharth Kannan’s YouTube channel, Shagufta Ali was asked the reasons for the separation of the 90s blockbuster couple Govinda and Karisma Kapoor.
“Maybe the interest and love between the two may have ended.”
When Shagufta Ali was asked why the superhit onscreen pair of Govinda and Karisma Kapoor broke up, she said that only both of them could tell the exact reason.
However, expressing his opinion, he said, “With time, maybe the interest between the two might have ended. The love might have also ended. Anyway, how can the mood of actresses be trusted? It is not right to be too ambitious. Karishma was very hardworking, but she also had a lot of attitude.”
“An artist’s behavior behind the camera matters a lot”
Talking further, Shagufta Ali said that the behavior of any actor matters not only in front of the camera but also on the set. If two actors are working together for a long time, then it is very important for them to have mutual coordination and respect for each other.
He stressed that every actor should get equal opportunity to express his views and act during any scene or interview. It is the responsibility of a good co-star to help and give the right cues when a co-star is delivering a scene.
