Ranchi, 02 October (HS). National University of Study and Research in Law (NUSRL) organized several programs on Gandhi Jayanti.
This includes cleanliness drives, poster making competitions and spending time with elders in old age homes. The event was jointly organized by the Gandhian Peace Club of the University and the students of the Center for Peace and Research in Tribal Rights.
In the competition, students tried to convey the message of keeping the earth clean and safe as per Gandhi's principles. Through the poster, the students also gave the message that how important it is to treat the warriors associated with the cleaning profession with respect. A total of 9 posters were prepared during this period.
Rajshri Tigga and Anushka Gautam personally created the posters. While five teams worked collectively it included Gautam, Ambika, Vishal, Umbul Topno, Shruti and Iris, Sakshi, Anisha, Aneesh and Paul.
As part of the cleanliness drive, students cleaned the entire university. After this, he visited an old age home and spent time with the elders. Student Rajat said, “We were very happy to spend time with the elders. We sang songs together, shared happiness and learned important life lessons from him.”
Vice Chancellor of the University, Dr. Prof. Ashok R. Patil said, “The new generation is active not only in cleanliness campaigns but also in spreading awareness. “Spending time in an old age home shows that the new generation understands its emotions and values.” This event is not only an effort to keep Gandhi's principles alive but also a step to spread awareness about cleanliness and dignity in the society.
