Bhopal, 26 September (HS). Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the state and central government are working for the development of every tribal person. Through the Prime Minister Jan-Man Yojana, the work of benefiting the special backward tribes on priority basis is being run as a campaign in Madhya Pradesh along with the entire country. Basic facilities like road, electricity, water, school and Anganwadi center are being provided in the Baiga, Bharia and Saharia special backward tribal settlements of Madhya Pradesh through the scheme. Apart from this, the benefits of all basic schemes are being ensured to the tribal families.
Governor Patel was addressing the Bharia tribal community's dialogue program organized in village Sidhauli of Chhindwara district on Thursday. He said that by taking advantage of the scheme, the life of people from the special backward tribal class will become easier and by taking advantage of the scheme, they will also be able to join the mainstream of society.
There is a need for wider awareness about sickle cell disease
The Governor said that widespread awareness is necessary for the elimination of sickle cell anemia. For effective prevention of sickle cell anemia, every community and individual will have to participate in the management and treatment and serve humanity. He said that the Central Government has set a target to make India TB free by the year 2025 and sickle cell anemia free by the year 2047. To achieve this, we all have to come forward and cooperate with the government.
Governor Patel said that sickle cell anemia is a genetic disease. To eradicate it, counseling and screening will have to be done in every family. Also, while examining pregnant women in Anganwadi centers, their family's disease history will also have to be found out. Children will also have to be checked for sickle cell anemia from time to time by visiting Anganwadi centers, primary, secondary, higher secondary schools and colleges. He also gave information about various programs and policy provisions being run by the Central and State Government for the eradication of sickle cell anemia.
Educate every child
The Governor motivated the people present to educate their children compulsorily and said that a person can progress in the society only by getting educated. He said that now lack of money is not a hindrance in the path of education, the state and central government are running many schemes for the education of students. By taking advantage of which any person can get better education. He told about the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Ayushman Bharat Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana.
Addressing the program, regional MP Vivek Bunty Sahu said that special efforts are being made in the district towards the implementation of the sickle cell eradication program and the Prime Minister Jan-Man Yojana. He said that special health camps are being organized in the entire district for identification and immediate treatment of sickle cell affected people. Amarwara MLA Kamlesh Pratap Shah and former President Bharia Development Authority Urmila Bharti also addressed the program.

Governor Patel symbolically distributed books to the children for the preparation of JEE NEET examination along with the beneficiaries of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Swamitva Yojana, Soil Health Card and other self-employment based schemes.
Observed the health camp organized at Primary Health Center Chhindi
The Governor visited the sickle cell anaemia eradication camp organized at the Primary Health Center Chhindi in village Chhindi of development block Tamia of Chhindwara district. While inspecting the arrangements of the camp, he talked to the villagers who had come for screening and encouraged everyone. The Governor also inspected the Primary Health Center. He observed the OPD, general ward, store room of the health center, besides other medical facilities including tele consultant room and had a cordial conversation with the children undergoing treatment and present in the health center. He interacted with the children suffering from the genetic disease sickle cell and their families and motivated them to get the disease treated by taking all the necessary medicines under the supervision of doctors.
Governor Patel said that children affected by sickle cell anemia should do yoga and exercise regularly. They should give importance to nutritious food at home and eat simple satvik food. He also advised children to avoid fast food and other oily foods.
Visited Anganwadi Centre and met children and lactating women
The Governor inspected the Anganwadi Centre, Baddadhana Chhindi. He talked to the children and lactating women present there. He received information from the Anganwadi worker and assistant about the children enrolled in the centre and the nutritional food provided by the department, and also observed the exhibition related to nutritional food at the centre. The Governor distributed toffees to the children present and gifts to the lactating women. He directed the departmental staff to conduct regular health check-ups of pregnant women, adolescents and children and provide necessary advice and treatment.
