Israel was formed in 1948 and at the same time Israel had to face war. Five Arab countries jointly attacked Israel which had become a separate country after separating from Palestine. The countries which were attacked were Egypt, Iraq, Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. Israel single-handedly defeated all the five. In that war Israel captured a large area except the Gaza Strip.
The Second War (1956)
In 1956, Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser nationalized the Suez Canal. At that time, the canal was owned by a company controlled by France and Britain. France and Britain supported Israel and attacked Egypt and captured the canal zone. However, due to international pressure, the victorious countries soon had to give up their control over the area.
The Third War (1967)
Ten years later, in 1967, war broke out again between Israel and its neighbors. This war, recorded in history as the Arab-Israeli War, lasted for just 6 days from June 5 to June 11. 5 lakh Palestinians became homeless in that war. In that war, Israel defeated Egypt in Gaza, Syria in the Golan Heights, and Jordan in the West and East Banks of Jerusalem.
Fourth War (1973)

The Fifth War (1982)

The Sixth War (1987)
