Kanpur, 21 September (HS). An old couple sleeping on the roadside near Paramat temple in Gwaltoli police station area died after being crushed by an unknown vehicle on Saturday morning. The police team activated on the information has taken the bodies of the couple into custody and started investigation. Police say that the couple used to earn their living by begging near the temple.
Deputy Commissioner of Police, Central Zone, Dinesh Tripathi said that Shanti Devi (65) and Nirbhay Chand alias Sitaram (70), residents of Bandh village of Sacheti police station area, used to earn their living by begging around the Anandeshwar temple located in Paramat and used to sleep on the roadside at night. Both were sleeping at night, during this time both of them were crushed by an unknown vehicle, due to which both died. On Saturday morning, the police team, which reached on the information of the local people, has taken the bodies of the couple in its custody and started investigation. In this regard, a case has been registered against unknown persons and investigation has been started. Panchnama of both the bodies has been done and sent to the post-mortem house.
