Ahmedabad : After Operation Sindoor, the Indian Army has started the exercise to further strengthen the air security shield near the border. Under the Mission Sudarshan Chakra, the Indian Army has issued RFP (request for proposal) to buy six AK-630 30mm air defense guns. These air defense guns will provide protection from air strikes, especially near the Pakistan border, where cities and religious places were targeted during Operation Sindoor.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced the Mission Sudarshan Chakra on August 15, 2025, saying that it would be India’s indigenous iron dome. This will be a multi -level security shield and will be ready by 2035. Sudarshan Chakra will integrate monitoring, cyber security and air defense systems to protect important places from various attacks. Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi on Friday warned Pakistan against terrorist activities in India, saying that there will be no mercy in Operation Sindoor 2.0.

AK-630 is a 30 mm multi-barrel mobile air defense gun. Talking about its merits, this gun system will be installed on a trailer. AK 630 will be used to prevent attacks such as UAV, rocket, artillery and mortar and protect important places and religious centers on the border. The range of this gun system will be about 4 kilometers and its cyclic firing rate will be up to 3000 rounds per minute. It will use an all-visitor electro-optical fire control system for detection.
