25 thousand 365 cusecs of water released from Matatila Dam

Jhansi, 1 August (HS). District Magistrate Avinash Kumar appealed to all the common people of the district and said that due to continuous rain in the state and other states, water is being released from the dam. Due to which the rivers are in spate. 31979 cusecs of water was released from Rajghat Dam, 25 thousand 365 cusecs of water has been released from Matatila so far. In view of this, the villagers of the villages situated on the river bank should not go to the island in the middle of the river under any circumstances nor do any kind of activity on the river bank.

The District Magistrate said that the Irrigation Department informed that due to the release of about 25365 cusecs of water from the Matatila Dam, many villages are likely to be affected and instructed the villages situated on the banks of the river to remain alert. He advised the village head, village monitoring committee, lekhpal, secretary and all others to remain alert in those villages which are on the banks of the river and are likely to be affected in case of water release.

He said that everyone should remain fully alert and keep a constant eye on the rising water level of the river and keep giving information continuously. He also instructed various departmental officers to visit the spot and inspect it. He said that if there is any cow shelter on the banks of the river, then special vigilance should be exercised there.

He said that under no circumstances should there be any loss of animals and people. Ensure the availability of divers and boats in the villages on the river banks so that people can be saved from accidents in time. He said that no one should face any problem due to the rising water level of the river. If the water level is very fast on the riptide, then avoid crossing the road and save others too and immediately provide information about such villages to the headquarters.
